Opportunities…..Building Our Successes.
"You don't just luck into things.... You build step by step, whether it's friendships or
opportunities" - Barbara Bush -
Coming from Texas, I have a great deal of respect for the wisdom of Barbara Bush. She has a wonderful way of getting right to the point. You have to continually build, remodel and strive to make anything you do better.
This holds true for our Craps play as well.
During a recent craps session with the DiceCoach, we played at a table with an extremely pleasant and professional woman dealer. I was impressed by how well she interacted with both the veteran dealers and the players at the table. Later that evening, at yet another casino, I again noticed the women dealers and
box women, and the comfort and ease that they brought to the game. They were all knowledgeable and proficient at their job. This level of expertise did not come overnight, but was something that they build up with time. They were
schooled, then trained on the casino floor and finally they built on their own and other women's
experiences.
Working in a field that has been traditionally "male oriented", we can certainly learn from these women dealers, expanding on their successes and incorporating their experiences in to our own learning curve. We can "school" ourselves by reading and attending seminars or classes. We will then go on to the live "training" that we get in the casinos, supporting one another as we become more familiar with the game. And finally we will
build on our own experiences to become the successful and proficient players that we want to become.
As I mentioned, part of our education is in the form or classes or seminars. Because women think differently and learn at a different pace, the idea of a seminar "Exclusively for Women" has long been a priority for me. In discussing it with the DiceCoach, we found that we had both been considering just such a workshop. As we continued to talk about this great opportunity, the foundations for this workshop started to fall into place. Within the next few weeks, we will be announcing the dates and format for this wonderful experience.
And as they say on television; "Stay Tuned" to DiceCoach.Com for the exciting details!
