1.   A Note from the Dice Coach

Our last Three Amigo's event with Michael Vernon (the professor) www.playing4keeps.com , Debbie Garcia aka  (Soft Touch) www.dicesetter.com and the Dice Coach was a great success...  We had more than one casino session, playing on the strip at the major casions..  You need to read Debbie's experience at Bellagio(main article for this month) At the end of all casino sessions all of our players were up many units, adding to the bottom line of their bankroll.

Check out our home page for up coming events

If you have not already noticed, we now have on-line training videos on our website showing different aspects of the game.  The basic game with betting strategies, dice sets, dice grips, and the toss.

All you have to do is buy a block of video time, then watch the videos that are of most interest to you.  The more you buy, the more bonus time we give to you.  Right now we have around 46 videos uploaded and we expect to have around 90 when we finish the project.   Five are FREE videos, with more coming.

We are also featuring a series of "Living in Las Vegas" free videos that we will upload about once a month or so - just fun updates on things to do in Las Vegas,  items of special interest, as well as various celebrations and holidays.    So enjoy and let us know how you like the videos.  Pablo and I are having a great time with this project.

Next Hilton Tournament is Oct. 24th. -26th. 2008.

Speaking of the Hilton tournament ... The Dice Coach and his video crew went out today to shoot the May video for our “Living in Las Vegas Series.”  Our camera crew consists of  Pablo (Web Master) his wife Pat, Beth (Mrs. Dice Coach) and myself. We started the day off at PT’s for breakfast, then on to the Las Vegas strip for our video series.  Our new video should be up on our Home page shortly.

When we finished our videoing on the Strip I decided we all needed to go to the Hilton to qualify for the Oct. Craps tournament.

We all entered the Hilton through the sports book area and headed for the craps tables.  When we got to the craps tables, two were open, one was full and the other was completely empty.

Beth and I split a buy-in bankroll as did Pat and Pablo.  At breakfast we taught Beth and Pat how to set for a come out 11 “YO”.  Beth was the first shooter at SR2 and made two passes and several numbers, but no come out 11.  I (the Dice Coach) shot next and guess what?   Point and 7 out, ouch!!

Pablo, at stick-left-end, made two passes and a few numbers but no come out “YO”. Pat was the next shooter, hit a point, made two passes and a few numbers, made two second roll “YO’S”, and also threw the dice off the table about five times!
The suit had to go “dice chasing”.  He even borrowed the stick from the table to fetch from under the other table!  Later Pat decided her handle should be “bounce-em-off!”

Beth is set to throw the dice for her second time, set the dice for the 3V threw an on axis 6/5 “YO” on the first toss.  We all had $5.00 on the YO and $5.00 on the World Bet. She hit several craps numbers, so the bad World Bet became a good bet.

Thanks to Beth, all four of us are entered into the Oct. Hilton Craps Tournament!! Check out the rules for this tournament below under Tournaments.

Way to go Beth!

Keep sending in your trip reports and testimonials, everyone one wants to know how you are doing?  If you have an article of value to the dice community, and you would like to submit please do so. We are always looking for fresh insights to the game.

Always play with an advantage;  play to win, don't just play to play!

 2.  LAS VEGAS REAL ESTATE

As many of you know I have had my Nevada Real Estate license for the past three years.

Since our move to Las Vegas  8 years ago, we have purchased six different properties.  Some we have sold and some we have kept for investment - rental properties.

Across the country the housing prices have fallen and Las Vegas is no different.  Now is the time to buy in Las Vegas, I believe the prices have hit bottom and it is definitely a buyers market.  The developers on new homes are now taking offers and negotiating prices where one or two years ago they would not.    It is really is amazing to see the effects a buyers market can have on the price of Real Estate.  For example I just sold a property in a gated community with a five acre park, -a two story home, 3 BR, 2 1/2 Bath, 2 car garage, 1505 sq. ft. with a covered front porch for under $200K.

If you are interested in any Las Vegas properties either to live in, as a second home, or just for an investment, give me a call on our TOLL FREE LINE 1-866-342-3626 or call on my cell (702) 610-5617.

3.  Testimonial of the Month

Hi Beau and Beth,

It was certainly a pleasure meeting both of you Wednesday.  I thoroughly enjoyed my session.  BTW, I want my money back I didn't learn a thing LOL

Beau, your teaching made a big impact on me.  I was ready to give up on this crazy game of craps but trying not to be a quitter and after not learning that much from that other group, I thought I would give you a try.  A new perspective is what I sought.  Well I kept saying it during our "private" session and also at the Golden Nugget:   UNBELIEVABLE!

I was just so lucky to have had a private session with you.  I know I would not have learned as much if there were four or five other students in the class.  You opened my eyes to new ways to grip the dice, throw the dice and a different perspective on betting.  I just loved watching and following you as you bet in our casino session.  WOW!  Never, ever made so much money at one time (a five hundred dollar chip unheard of) and so much fun yelling and carrying on.  I'm just sorry I had to catch a plane and get home.

I think Jeff from New York is just one phenomenal shooter.  I want to throw the dice like him.   WOW!  Just a nice easy release, hits his spot (where you told me) and a super nice landing.  Guess I need to practice that throw.  At least I have an image on how I want to throw the dice, Something to strive for.   You said he visited Vegas once a month last year.  Hope he does it again.  If and when he returns would you be so kind as to email or phone me so that I can come and watch again.  Hope to make some money also.  But, I will be there.

I would like to study him and you some more.  Wouldn't mind making some money again though.   Hope to learn and play with you again.  So until next time, take care of yourself and Beth and always be your happy self.  It's infectious.

8.  LAS VEGAS CASINOS ROLL OUT THE DEALS:

Springtime is boomtime in Las Vegas--- with pool-perfect weather drawing business travelers, gamblers, golfers, and spa-goers eager to put winter behind them.   The only catch: $500.-a-night rooms, $300.meals and $200. show tickets.

Not this spring.  Reacting to a national economic slump that has depressed gambling revenues and room rates along the Strip, casino and hotel operators are offering up a buffet of springtime deals normally reserved for the hot, slow summer months.  Already, room rates along the Strip are predicted to decline 23% through May 3.  Gambling reveues recently dropped for the second straight month, and visitation is down slightly.

Travel from Corpus Christi, Texas, this week good package deals on www.Cheaptickets.com three nights at the Monte Carlo hotel and casino, plus airfare for about $520. per person.

Major properties up and down the Strip are running special spring rates for less than $100. per night.

Big discounts are conveniently corralled in the last place you might think to look:  Las Vegas official tourist Web site, www.visitlasvegas.com   run by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

    CASINO NEWS

DID   YOU KNOW:  That the Wynn Macau casino is a non-smoking casino.  Knowing Steve, I'm surprised he doesn't try it here? Don't do it, it wont work!

NOT SO GREAT:  Word has it that the dealers at the Palazzo hae been avreaging about $140. a day in tokes.  Don't forget, they are splitting with the dealers at the Venetian.  I hear that the dealers at the Venetian have suffered about a 25% drop in their tokes due to this split and they aren't too happy with this arrangement.

YDT:   Last year dealers at the Mirage made $66,500, Golden Nugget was about $52,000, the Tuscany dealers made $41,000, Cannery dealers did about $30,000, and the dealers at Arizona Charlies (Dedatur) made $29,000.

EXPENSIVE FLOWERS:  In order to keep all those beautiful flowers blooming at the Bellagio, Mirage and the T/I, it takes a staff of 64 workers operating 7 days a week.  The floriculture department (that's what its called) receives about 12,000 roses and about 25,000 other flowers every week to be used in all the wedding chapels, VIP rooms, lobbies and restaurants. WOW!

DID YOU KNOW:  That for every hotel room that is built in Las Vegas it translates into 2.5 jobs.  1.5 direct jobs those at the property and one indirect job, (teachers, doctors and bankers, etc).

TIDBITS:   Lake Mead get 96% of all its water from snow melting from other states.

I LIKE IT:  Recently the police installed a camera at the corner of Fremont and 15th.  The camera was encased in a bulletproof box and it has reduced crime significantly.

HOWEVER:   Metro reported that in Las Vegas there were 46,522 handguns registered in 2007.  Compared to 40,821 in 2006 and 32,538 in 2005.  Keep in mind that those are only the ones that were registered!

NOT GOOD NEWS:  Many Strip casinos and even more local casinos are laying off dealers and cutting back hours.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE:  If you dealt at the Bellagio and had Mon. & Tues. off you made $83.300, Tues & Wed, off, $84,400, Wed. & Thurs. off $84,300, Fri. & Sat. off $78,800 and Sun. & Mon. off then you made $81,600.

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT:  The Venetian is going to offer high-limit baccarat tables on the companies aircraft for their customers to play during the 14 hour flights from Asia.  Sounds like a good idea to me!  Now, the Gaming Board said that they don't have to report revenue from these airplanes as long as they are operating over international waters.  (like cruiseships) But, any wins from a customer might have to be reported for income taxes.  So, if the house wins, no taxes are paid, if the player wins, taxes are paid.  I wonder who the IRS is rooting for?

SHOWED A LOT OF CLASS:  During the three weeks that the dealers were out of work at the Monte Carlo, they were paid their basic wage and $150. a day in tokes.  THATS RIGHT! $150 a day in tokes.  That's more than they used to average every day.  So, I gotta laugh when I hear how the joints don't take care of their dealers.

The Dealer's News:  Thanks Ron
