From Bodacious to Dice Coach in 90 days!
I had talked to Beau on Sunday morning and he suggested that
we meet at 9:00 am on Monday morning at the Mirage, around
the craps pit. The Mirage was right across the street from
where I was staying at Harrah's so it was a perfect place
for me to meet him. Since I had never met Beau before I
asked him how I would recognize him. He simply said he had
gray hair and a gray beard. "Anything else?" I asked him,
and he said "No, you'll recognize me."
It was now 9:10 and as I sat by a slot machine I saw that
the guy at the craps table with gray hair and a gray beard
was still there. Could this guy be the Beau Parker I was
looking for?
About the time I was thinking this I saw another guy with
gray hair and a gray beard, with this huge smile on his
face, come walking into the area. I got up from my seat at
the slot machine and headed towards him and as he glanced my
way I knew that this was Beau Parker, aka Bodacious, (his
internet handle) that I was meeting.
I had no idea at the time that our "little" get together
would last until 7:00 pm that night! And, that we would
become instant friends, like we had known each other forever
and had been best friends for as long as we could remember!
You would not have been able to convince me on that night,
May 27, 2002 that; within two weeks I would be back in Las
Vegas at a Jerry Paterson craps class; that Pat (my wife)
and I would be back in Las Vegas in another two weeks to
design a web site for Beau; that this new web site would be
launched 92 days after I met Beau; that we would launch
another web site "GamblersOutlet.com" two months later; that
I would design and build a traveling practice unit before
the end of the year; that my job with the State of Colorado
would be eliminated only weeks after the launch of
DiceCoach.com; that I would be asked on January 2 to design
and build a "Throwing Station" by the 25th of January; and
that by July we would sell our house which we had lived in
for 12 years and move to Las Vegas. I wouldn't have believed
it, but it is all true!
And now it's six years later! It's like it all started
yesterday! And there's more yet to come!
The "bodacious" Beau Parker is now known as the "Dice
Coach", but he is still a very "bodacious" guy, and best of
all " we're still best friends!
